Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?
Contact me at the email or phone number below and we will start with a free consultation to hear your concerns and discuss next steps!

What areas do you service?

Teletherapy services are available in North or South Carolina!  Community-based services are available in the Rock Hill area.

How does teletherapy work?
I use Google Meets to meet with you and your child.  You will receive an email with a private, individualized link to open the video session.  You can use a phone, tablet, or computer for the teletherapy sessions.  All you need is a stable internet connection.
Our video sessions are HIPAA compliant.

Will teletherapy work for my child?
Absolutely!  Research shows that online speech and language services are as effective as traditional services in a clinic or school.

What are the benefits of teletherapy?
Convenience!
You and your child can stay in the comfort of your own home.
Other siblings can be home (and involved in the session)!
Effectiveness!
We will be using items/spaces the child has access t
o everyday to target his/her goals.
The coaching model is easily implemented over teletherapy which is an evidence-based way for your child to meet their goals.

Do yo
u take insurance?

Soon!  I am actively working on contracts with multiple insurance companies.  In the meantime all services are private pay.  Superbills are available to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Can I submit a claim to insurance?

Yes! For each visit you are provided with an itemized bill called a Superbill that includes all necessary information (including diagnostic and treatment codes) to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies on your insurance plan and is not guaranteed.

*Please note: It is strongly recommended that you contact your insurance company before starting services to find out if you are eligible for reimbursement and what percentage of reimbursement your plan will provide.

Do I need a referral from my child's pediatrician?
Possibly, your insurance will probably require a referral if you plan to submit the superbill for possible reimbursement.

What should I expect from the free initial consultation?

I will speak with you on the phone or video chat about your child and help determine whether your child needs a full speech-language evaluation. I will also answer any questions you have about the services I offer!

If my child qualifies for services, how long does treatment typically last?

Session length and the duration of treatment (how many months) varies widely from child to child.  Typical session lengths are 30 or 60 minute sessions 1 or 2 times a week depending on child's needs as determined by evaluation or current goals.

Can my child receive speech-language services both privately and through the school district?

Yes!  I am happy to collaborate with your child's school SLP to help your child achieve their goals!
